About

Solace for Hope

Tragically, the rate only rose since then. More than 200 Americans a day died from a drug overdose in 2018. We need to do something so other families are spared from the sudden and devastating loss of a loved one to substance use disorders.

Solace For Hope is a safe, stigma-free support group for impacted families to share about loss or their struggling loved ones. Solace For Hope families share their experiences, strengths, and hope with people in recovery, in order to gain the perspective from impacted families in a way they never considered.

One of our main goals is to save families from experiencing the devastating loss of a loved one. We promote harm reduction by educating and informing families about the signs of an opioid overdose and how to properly respond to one. We also provide information about Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT) and link people with resources in Orange County.

A drug overdose took the life of Mitchell Fleitman on June 11, 2010, in his parent’s home in Orange County, California. He was 22. Mitch left behind his parents and three younger brothers who are forever changed.

Mitchell was one of 95 Americans to die from a drug overdose that day in 2010.
